Kathleen De Jesus-Gauthier

Registered Massage Therapist, Athletic Therapist

Honours BSc, RMT, CAT

Kathleen De Jesus-Gauthier is a Certified Athletic Therapist (AT) and a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). She graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics, Honours, (magna cum laude) and from Sheridan College in 2004 with a Diploma in Sports Injury Management (Silver medal recipient). Immediately after graduating she began working with Rugby Canada’s National Senior Women’s team as an athletic therapist. In 2006, she reached one of her goals of being part of the World Cup team, finishing 4th overall. Most recently, Kathleen graduated with Honours from Algonquin College’s Intensive Massage Therapy Program in 2016.
As an athlete, her sport is rugby. She represented Rugby Canada in 2000, after rehabilitating from 2 ACL reconstructive surgeries. Kathleen strongly believes that with hard work, commitment and determination almost any injury is recoverable. She believes that returning to play from back-to-back surgeries made her a better athlete and therapist.
Kathleen’s certification as both an AT and RMT enable her to utilize a wide variety of techniques incorporating a combination of hands-on therapies and individualized exercise programs. She has taken courses in Cranial Sacral Therapy, Soft Tissue Release, Dynamic Taping and will be certifying in Visceral Manipulation. Working with people to help achieve their potential and participate in whatever activity they choose is what she finds most rewarding. Kathleen has extensive field experience covering athletic events from local, provincial, national and international levels.
Outside of work, Kathleen is the proud mother of 2 boys whom she enjoys spending time with. Her hobbies include reading, watching movies, and will hopefully be able to take up woodworking in the near future.
